Recovery is more than staying sober.
It's rebuilding who you are.
In-person addiction therapy in Fort Lauderdale with a licensed therapist who accepts your insurance.
EMDR Therapy:
Many people in recovery carry unresolved trauma that feeds their addiction. EMDR helps reprocess those memories at a neurological level—reducing their emotional charge without requiring you to relive every detail.

Motivational Interviewing:
A collaborative, non-judgmental approach that helps you get clear on your own values and reasons for change—rather than feeling pressured by external expectations.
You've made it through the hardest part — or you're still in it. Either way, something keeps pulling you back.
Maybe you've been sober for a while but feel empty, going through the motions without feeling truly alive. Maybe shame and guilt are louder than ever now that the substance isn't there to quiet them. Maybe you're terrified of relapse — or you've already relapsed and don't know how to face that.
Or maybe you're still in the thick of it, and you know something needs to change.
You're in recovery but feel empty, disconnected, or unsure of who you are without the addiction
Guilt and shame from your past feel impossible to move through
You're managing the cravings but not the underlying pain driving them
You've relapsed and feel like starting over is pointless
You're a high-functioning person whose substance use has quietly escalated
You're struggling with gambling, gaming, or social media addiction
You're an older adult navigating substance use alongside grief, loneliness, or health changes
Addiction is not a character flaw. It is a response to pain, to trauma, to circumstances. Therapy addresses what's underneath, not just the behavior on the surface.

How I can help
Logotherapy:
Developed by Viktor Frankl, this meaning-centered approach is powerful in recovery—helping you move from "How do I stop?" to "What am I living for?" Finding meaning is one of the most effective relapse-prevention tools available.
About Roman Lockshin, LMHC
I came to this work through my own journey.
I spent years as a concert violinist, then built a career in finance—MBA, Chartered Financial Analyst, Wall Street. Along the way, I navigated my own relationship with addiction and experienced firsthand what it takes to genuinely change. I also served as a primary counselor at a top-rated substance abuse rehabilitation clinic, giving me clinical depth across a wide range of addiction presentations.
I understand the shame. I understand the exhaustion of wanting to stop but not being able to. And I know that what most people need isn't more willpower — it's the right support, at the right time, with someone who actually gets it.
